Lash it or not on your big day...

Updated: Apr 18, 2020

As a #makeup #artist and lover of false #eyelashes I would always say 'To Lash' but that’s just me.

For #bridal trials I always recommend that #brides to be, give false eyelashes a try before ruling them out completely. 9 out of 10 times, I find the winner is 'The Lash'! It is amazing what even a natural false eyelash can do to enhance the eyes.

False eyelashes when first applied do feel strange. The eye will try to fight the foreign object but if applied correctly and once the glue has dried you shouldn’t even notice they’re there!

After the bridal trial I always advise clients try to keep their #makeup and #eyeashes on all day. This will give you a feel for what it will be like on your big day. I know this is not always possible, especially if you don’t want your partner to see it!

Now onto the different types of lashes:

There are mainly two different lashes I use which are strip lashes and individual lashes.

Below I have given a brief description about both...

1. Strip lashes

These lashes are pre knotted onto a band. The strip lash is then glued just above the natural lashes. I have a ‘crazy lash bag’ full of long fluffy creature like things and I also have a natural lash bag full of very subtle looking eyelashes

2. Individual eyelashes

These are pre made fans which can be applied individually on to the outer corners to give a subtle effect or along the lash line to add a bit more drama.

One thing to take into consideration when choosing an eyelash is that it is not too thick. You don’t want it to drown the eye and cover up all the beautifully applied #eyemakeup. The ideal #falseeyelash is one which not only enhances the eyes but also allows the eye makeup to show through.

Another factor when choosing, is to make sure they suit your eye shape. Not all eyelashes are designed to suit all eye shapes. The wrong shaped eyelash can ruin a beautiful eye makeup. It’s important to do a bit of research before selecting or just ask me, I can talk about false eyelashes all day.

I hope you've enjoyed this read. If there is anything in particular you want me to discuss in my next blog just let me know.
